Guided Test

Previously we developed a computer-guided test program for hand hygiene testing. The program would generate a random sequence of actions for a participant to follow, simulating actions a healthcare provider might take in their everyday routine.

While wearing a prototype Sanibit wristband, the participant would walk up to a Sanibit controller inside or outside outside a simulated patient room. Then, the controller would detect the wristband's Bluetooth signal and communicate via a web service with a laptop. The laptop would then prompt the user to take a sequence of actions. The user would follow the actions, and the wristband would upload its observations of the actions to the server (where the observations would be compared to the instructions).

Below is a video which provided instructions to participants before they started the simulation. The video features the computer guided test program which provided instructions in this simulation, and will form the foundation of our updated computer-guided test.
